StarCraft 2 is back and you want to compete with the pros and dominate the game. So you go in and use your your previous experience and strategies playing StarCraft 1, thinking hey, its still the same game, which got a few upgrades. Well, maybe a few old school strategies will still work but then you still get beaten up and keep losing the game. So now you are looking for new strategies to avoid further embarrassment and bring back to your golden reign, ultimately commanding respect among StarCraft 2 players.

StarCraft 2 has changed and each race has improved a lot. Discovering each unit's specialty, protecting its weakness and taking advantage of its strength is key to winning the game. To start off, play all three races and observe each battle unit has to offer, then pick a race to begin your mastery. Remember, experience is the best teacher and losing a game makes you remember what wrong moves you have taken. I started with terran race since it is the easiest to comprehend.

As you may already know, mastering hot keys is very important. Make sure to memorize each and every key especially to battle units. Why? I'll tell you later. This will greatly save you precious time and improve your speed commands and efficiently run your race.

Listen closely, kin observation is likewise a very important key to playing StarCraft 2 like a pro. Each strategy taken by your opponent has a counter strategy that you can take. So scouting what your enemy is doing is key to winning. But note that your enemy is also watching what steps or command orders you are taking so it is often times helpful to deceive your opponent by showing him false moves.

Because of numerous units, each having a specific specialty, micro management is another key to winning the game. Remember me telling you to master the hot keys? Because you cannot micro manage if you haven't memorized the hot keys. This skill will avoid you useless efforts. But of course it requires proper calculation so that each command or order is not wasted. From the beginning of the game, knowing the right number of harvester (probe, drone, mule) to collect how much before the next command is ordered, to the right upgrade taken and to the final battle command. This is micro management and can only be achieved after continuous days and weeks of practice whether you are winning or losing the game. Yeah, losing. Makes you feel bad, but what the hell, the game is there for you to enjoy! So have fun!
