When starting out in Evony, few pay any substantial attention to the numerous statistics of your player or your city. Most players feel they have slight understanding of what is happening, but do not actually understand what everything means, or how to increase each statistic. This is regrettable, as it truly holds back one's ultimate outcome.
First off, every player has a certain set of statistics that should be noted. These statistics include prestige, honor, and achievement points, and each is no different for every one of their cities. Prestige is seen as extremely imperative for one's reputation, and is what most players use to contrast themselves to other gamers. The user footer will actually show to you how your prestige measures up to other gamers, and many players often make it their purpose to become 1 of the most prestigious players in the entire game. An additional important stat is honor. Honor measures how well you are doing in battle. If you regularly are defeated by your adversaries, and get tons of resources taken from you, there is a good chance your honor will be low. Lastly, achievement points describe how well you have completed the many achievements, which are actually different from the quests. Each of these statistics are critical and should be increased as often as possible.
Along with your gamer statistics, which are the same for all of your cities, each city has its own unique statistics which also must be considered. Most of these statistics are the resources that belong to your city. These resources include lumber, food, iron, and stone, which are all gathered through sawmills, farms, quarries, and ironmines, and are needed for building things, fielding an army, and making upgrades. Another resource is gold, which you receive from taxing your population, and is necessary for researching at the academy and reaching new levels.
In addition to resources, your city also has a couple additional notable statistics that should be considered. Loyalty refers to how big your population is in relation to your highest possible population. If you have a high population limit, but low loyalty, you are not taking advantage of a lot of residents that you could have if your loyalty was larger. To elevate loyalty, you can either reduce the tax rate or perform acts such as "disaster relief" at the town hall. Also, in addition to population, another essential measurement is labor force. It is vital to make sure that your labor force doesn't ever exceed your population, or else you won't be accumulating as many resources as you potentially could. If this occurs, make sure to build more cottages and increase loyalty in order to elevate population.
While many users may ignore the statistics of their cities as mundane, understanding your city and user stats is quite vital for success. Only once you've understood what is occurring in your city and what its flaws are can you ever hope to improve it and help it accomplish as much results as it is capable of.
