Have you ever eaten for any reason other than fuel for your body? Often when we experience emotions, we reach for food to comfort us. Unfortunately that comfort is short lived. You may have found it has left you feeling more out of control. This may cause you to want to eat more. I am going to share 5 easy tips that have helped me stop the emotional eating cycle.
Tip 1: Recognize What and How Much You Are Eating In A Day
I have found that keeping track of what I eat helps me know without a doubt what is going in my body. Even it is just 1 bite! I've found this helps me stay on caloric track. It also is a quick and easy reference to look at. You may notice changes in eating habits and behaviors. You can then make quick corrections if necessary. It is important to find the way that best fits you and your schedule to track what you eat.
Tip 2: Take Note of What Your Triggers Are
What is it that is emotionally charging you to reach for food as comfort? You may find that you eat when you are stressed. Many have found they eat when they are depressed. Some find they eat when they are alone. You may notice you have many triggers. As you identify what triggers your emotional eating then you may be able to work on that trigger. You may also feel better prepared the next time you feel that emotion. This may help you make a different choice.
Tip 3: Eat a Nutrient Dense Diet
You may find that the more nutrient dense you diet is the less emotional eating you do. You may notice as you give your body the nutrition it needs your triggers may not make you as emotional as before.
Often as our body is given "good fuel" it then can run better. Making the best choices of nutrient rich, clean food will fuel your body and may help balance your brain chemically. You also may find that you have more energy, less depression, less stress and feel more well balanced.
Tip 4: Hypnosis
Hypnosis can be used to help you release the negative beliefs and core issues. When we have been hurt in the past, things in the present may trigger that emotion. Hypnosis may help you release the negative emotion. You may also find that hypnosis helps you with your stress. You might feel much less emotionally charged.
Hypnosis can also help you with cravings and addictions. If food has become an addiction you may find that hypnosis can change this behavior. Many times the addiction to food is more about the emotional craving for comfort than it is about the food itself. Find a hypnotist that is knowledgeable in this field. Make sure you feel comfortable with the hypnotist you work with.
Tip 5: Drinking Enough Pure Water Everyday
It is so important to have plenty of pure water everyday. Our bodies are more than 90% water. When we become dehydrated many things go wrong in our body. Think of water as the oil in the engine of the car. When the oil gets low the motor has to work harder. When it gets to low the motor burns up. Also if the oil is not changed it gets dirty and sludgy. The motor then has to work harder to pump it through. When the oil is thick and sludgy it begins to clog the parts inside the motor. The motor runs best with plenty of clean, "high QUALITY" oil. Your body will run best with plenty of pure, fresh, good quality water.
You may find that one or more of these tips may help you stop your emotional eating. You may also notice that when you begin to utilize one or more of the tips above, you may lose some weight. Another thing that you may notice is that when you begin to lose what has weighed you down internally the weight that holds you back externally begins to disappear.
